About us

About Paul Stevenson

We are a first generation family independent funeral directors.

Incorporated in November 1994 Paul started the business having spent 10 years working for another independent funeral director and was joined by wife Fiona, who was previously a driving instructor.

Since 1994

Paul is Managing Director of Paul Stevenson Funeral Directors Ltd. and is well established in the funeral profession, having over 30 years’ experience.

Paul is a member of the SAIFCharter Executive and is the Chair of the Product Development & Innovation group as well as a member of the Monitoring & Compliance committee. Paul is the past President of Scottish SAIF, 2018 - 2020 and has been a trustee on the Golden Charter Trust since 2016.

Throughout the next years, we have gone from strength to strength and in 2010 we opened our Largs office and in June 2014 we opened our memorial showroom.

Throughout the years we have also been recognised in relation to our funeral plans, winning Funeral Planner of the Year 2008, 2013, 2014 & 2015.

In 2009, Paul was asked to be the 30th chieftain of Ardrossan Highland Games.

The next generation

In July 2014, our daughter Katie joined the company.

Starting as our office manager Katie first became a certified funeral planner and in 2016 went on to become a funeral director. As of February 2022 Katie is became a qualified Personal Trainer and in July 2022 is now a Mental Health and Exercise Coach.

In 2019 we celebrated 25 years of the business.

We have also sponsored golf competitions and bowling events as well as local sponsorships with local junior and youth football teams and bowling clubs.

We were proudly able to sponsor Katie who was selected to represent Scotland ladies under 25s bowling squad in Belfast 2019.

In the community

We have also met various people, guest speakers at events that we have attended throughout the years. Katie and Paul pictured Gordon Reid, British tennis wheelchair champion and Paralympic champion.

This was taken at one of the SAIF weekends in 2017 months after Gordon has won a gold and silver medal at the 2016 games.
